The 7 Immortals – Living among us and Waiting for their Purpose. (Short Post)

posted in: Mythology | 0

In every mythological story or even man-made stories, the climax ends up with villain getting defeated by the hero. In epics like Mahabharatha or Ramayan, the hero is the Supreme God himself. In a single line, whenever the evil reaches its peak, GOD takes an avatar to balance the society. I don’t know if GOD could do it alone or not but he always takes help from many already existing people on earth to fight evil. As, Lord Ram took help of Hanuman, Vibhishana, Sugriva. etc and Lord Krishna achieved order in society through Pandavas. This cycle repeats for every YUGA and we are currently in KALIYUGA according to ancient Hindu scriptures. It was believed that yet an avatar called Kalki avatar is to be taken by Lord Vishnu to attain good/bad balance in society in this yuga. However, GOD alone can not fight evil whatever Yuga it might be. So, whom are they who help Lord Kalki in this Yuga?

Lord Kalki, the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu

If you have been through scriptures of ancient India, there were many characters who are blessed with immortality. So, here goes the list of mythological characters blessed with immortality and their role in aiding 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu to establish Dharma (Law & Order).
